ASSIGNMENT: Uptown was hired by the City of Wilson to complete all outside plant design tasks for their new 300 mile FTTP network. Uptown facilitated the vendor selection process and was instrumental in selecting the optimal mix of outside plant components for the Wilson network. Neil Shaw completed all outside plant design, produced all construction prints, and worked closely with the City’s project manager and construction foreman throughout the construction phase. Uptown also completed a full fiber management conversion of the outside plant design, giving the City the capability to model fiber connectivity down to the strand level, anywhere in the network.

OUTCOME: Wilson completed the construction of the FTTP system in less than 18 months - ahead of schedule and under budget.
