ASSIGNMENT: Uptown completed the business planning assessment and submitted the BTOP/BIP grant application for this rural county on eastern Oklahoma. The project involved extending an existing FTTP system to reach the underserved areas within the county. Uptown identified community anchor institutions, evaluated the proposed service area, completed a mail survey to confirm underserved status, generated a full set of financial statements, and wrote the application.

OUTCOME: Awaiting funding determination by Department of Commerce officials.
